Deeside Climate Action Network (CAN)

Deeside CAN stands for Climate Action Network. It also stands for Care And Nurture for our community, environment and planet.

We are a group of people living in and around mid-Deeside in Aberdeenshire, who passionately want to do something to:

(1) lower our carbon footprint to minimise climate change

(2) reverse biodiversity loss

(3) eliminate waste

We started up in March 2019. We aim to raise awareness of the issues, help people find out what is happening in our area, and encourage them to get involved in constructive actions if they want to. We provide a forum for discussion and action, and a way to network with others working in the same issues and wanting to make a difference. Deeside CAN is part of a larger network of like-minded groups across NE Scotland (NESCAN). We share experiences and ideas, lobby decision makers for change, and seek to initiate changes in our locality.
