Wildlife Friendly Village Project

Last updated: 18/06/2024

In Banchory and surroundings areas (Mid-Deeside) we want to do our bit and help reverse the trend of catastrophic biodiversity loss. We want to be a community that encourages all variety of life to live locally.

We are working on a project called the ‘Wildlife Friendly Village’, setting aside 20% of all public and private spaces for wildlife. This initiative also helps to inform and facilitate us all to nurture the local biodiversity in the community by providing more food, shelter and nesting sites locally.

We’d like to encourage more volunteers and more conversations around growing useful plants and trees in and around our area – if you are interested please get in touch by email.
