Short and to the point
Keep the organisation description concise and focused, and
emphasise the most important and relevant information. The
goal is to provide an informative snapshot that captures the
heart of your organisation.
Business listings
You can add private businesses to ALISS. However, there
must be a focus on the health and wellbeing benefit of the
service that the business provides in the description.
Block capitals
Please do not write in block capitals. They create barriers to
accessibility for many individuals, including those with
disabilities or learning difficulties. Using mixed cases can
help ensure that information is accessible to everyone.
Acronyms
If you need to use an acronym you must spell out the full
name on the first mention, and follow that with the acronym
in brackets. You can use acronyms that would be familiar to
most readers, such as NHS.
Website links
Please do not add website URLs to the organisation
description, users will not be able to click any link from this
field when published on aliss.org. Website links can be
added to the “Organisation Web Address” field.
Location
Please do not add an address to the organisation description
field. You can add this in Step 3 of this form.
Purpose of organisation
If applicable, give a general idea of what your organisation
offers, and let people know what sets your organisation
apart. Do not describe your services in detail in the
organisation description field as you can add multiple
services to your organisation listing on ALISS.
Achievements
Tell people about any notable achievements, awards, or
recognition your organisation has received.

Why is a good organisation description important?
User trust
A clear and accurate service description contributes to building
trust and credibility. People are more likely to engage with
services if the organisation's description is informative.
