Delivered by Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (The ALLIANCE), the Scottish Sensory Hub (SSH) provide a platform for anyone in Scotland with lived experience of sensory Impairments. Launched in 2021 it draws experience from Deafscotland and Scottish Council on Visual Impairment. Founded to provide a strategic forum for cross-sensory input into policy and practice, the SSH conducts lived experience research, co-design, and consultation work. It acts as a bridge between the Scottish Government, public bodies, third sector, and individuals, enshrining a human rights-based approach for all.

The SSH range of engagement:

  • Visual Impairment Network for Children and Young People
  • Hearing Impairment Network for Children and Young People
  • Getting It Right for Every Child Advisory Group for children with disabilities and long-term conditions

The Hub also provides the Secretariat for the Cross Party Group on Deafness, and is a member of the Cross Party Group on Visual Impairment.
