Crossroads Young Carers Cowal & Bute
This is a Claimed service
We support young carers in Cowal & Bute aged 5 to 24 years.
Referrals can be made by a Parent, a Young Person over 16 years, Education, Social Work and Health staff provided you have the permission of the family to do so.
Our office times are Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm however some activities and groups operate outside of these times.
We provide school drop ins throughout the school week to schools in Cowal & Bute - see your school noticeboard for more information or how to contact the team.
Some young carers prefer one to one sessions and these can be provided in school or in the community.
Young carers in Secondary Education can have a Young Carers Education Card to help them during their school day, get in touch to find out more.
We have an after school programme in both Cowal and in Bute for Primary and Secondary aged Young Carers.
All Young Carers will be offered a Young Carers Statement and Young Adult Carers an Adult Support Plan. This will help us to understand your caring role, how you feel about it and the supports you might need to give you a break.
Young Adult Carers can attend a monthly Young Adults Group or join us for an evening walk and talk.
During the school holidays we can offer a range of activities as decided upon by our young carers and on occasion can provide some residential trips.
We encourage and support young carers to have a voice in the things that affect them - having a say on the things that matter
We are happy to support young carers with Advocacy, Signposting & Information, please just ask.
Young carers must be registered to attend activities and groups, please get in touch to find out more.
