Last updated: 26/01/2021

Our telephone and email helplines are available to those struggling with an eating disorder and also to their family, carers and friends.

Our helplines are open Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
9am – 1pm & 2pm – 5pm Telephone: 03000 111213

Email helplines are support@anorexiabulimiacare.org.uk and familyandfriends@anorexiabulimiacare.org.uk we aim to get back to you as soon as possible but this may not be on the same day as we are a small team.

Our Befriending Service provides personal support by linking people who are struggling with their recovery with those who are recovered and trained. Our volunteer Befrienders will provide a weekly telephone call for approximately 6 months in order to support and guide someone towards recovery. (This is not a counselling service and should run alongside medical and psychological support).
The Befriending Service aims to reduce feelings of isolation, offer hope and to encourage people as they work on their recovery. Practical help towards eating again is part of this service, led by ABC's registered dietitian and nutritional therapist.

It is really helpful to be able to speak to someone who knows what the road to recovery can be like. For those that would like a befriender information and an application form can be found on www.anorexiabulimiacare.org.uk/help-for-you/befriending
