Many people who wear hearing aids can’t see well enough to do their own re-tubing and cleaning. Also, some people struggle with the small fiddly pieces. If you need to send them into Audiology for attention, you may be without your hearing aids for a few days. For some people, this means not being able to have a conversation, listen to the TV or radio, or even answer the door-bell for a week or more.
We have a number of volunteers trained by Audiology colleagues to service, maintain and clean hearing aids. We hold drop-in sessions at our resource centres on set, days each month. Arrangements are different in each area, so contact us for more information.
If you need new batteries, drop into NESS resource centres in:
Aberdeen and Dundee between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
Elgin between 9:30am and 1pm, Monday to Friday.
Batteries are distributed free of charge.

Disabled toilet approximately 26 m from front door round to the right turning right into the toilet. Bathroom 250 cm x 203 cm. Door width 93cm and 190cm high. Door opens outwards. Toilet in front, with grab rails and adjustable handrail to the right of the toilet. Turning and space to right of toilet. small sink to the left of the front door, bin to the left of the door under handtowel dispenser. sanitary bin on left of toilet against the back wall. Emergency pull chord to right of toilet.
Most staff are trained to use basic sign language. BSL-English interpreters available to be booked.
Free WiFi available, password available from Reception staff.
Disabled toilet is gender neutral
Portable loop at lower end of reception available, and loop system available on request in large room with wooden floor and cafe.
Speaking lift available to first floor, which is not open to the public and is only for staff use.
The number 17 and 19 buses stop on George Street just past John Street, and on St Andrew's Street at the end of Jopps Lane. Number 12 and 59 stop on John Street at the Woolmanhill end. Number 18 and 23 buses stop on West North Street, which is about ten mins walk from John Street.
