Ayrshire Independent Living Network
We support people and unpaid carers in living independently at home and in their communities. We provide information on the Self-Directed Support legislation to ensure anyone accessing social care support knows their options. Self Directed Support is Scotland's mainstream approach to social care.
Option 1 - people who are assessed as eligible for a social care budget can take the budget directly as a direct payment and direct their care and support
Option 2 - You still have a choice of what support is needed and how it is provided, however, the local authority will make all payments for the service
Option 3 - The local authority decides what support is needed and when.
Option 4 - A mix of the above
AILN also offer support to become a self employed microenterprise in south Ayrshire, to support people to live independently.
