Common Wheel
Common Wheel is a mental health charity that supports people managing or recovering from mental illness and dementia by providing meaningful activities across Glasgow. We currently have four main projects.
At our bike workshop we run build your bike courses.
At our music project we run participatory music activities in hospital wards, care homes and in the community at our music base at Campbell House in the grounds of Gartnavel Royal Hospital.
At our visual arts project ‘Carnival Club’ participants meet once a week to work with a professional artist. Together they design and produce pieces of visual art that are showcased at events across Glasgow.
Our climbing project runs at the climbing centre in Maryhill, known as ‘The Prop Store’. Participants get the chance to learn how to boulder and rope climb and the group is suitable for all levels of fitness and experience.
All of our projects aim to reduce isolation, develop new skills, improve mental wellbeing and challenge stigma.
